Attention, Employees:

Sept. 12, 2016 - Starting Sept. 17, UNT System will be upgrading the spam-filtering system and routing your email through Microsoft's Office 365 Exchange Online Protection, EOP, service. Microsoft© Office 365 will provide an enhanced level of email protection from spam, phishing, viruses and malware. This change uses content filtering that evaluates inbound email messages by assessing the message's safety and legitimacy.

Before Sept. 17

Please visit the current spam filter located at https://spam.unt.edu to release any items, prior to Sept. 17, as they will no longer be available after this date. To release any files, employees will need to enter a ticket with their local help desk in Service Now. Once logged in, you can access the UNT Knowledge Base to learn more about spam filtering.

After Sept. 17
Messages suspected to be spam will be filtered into your Outlook Junk email folder. This folder can be accessed easily from your list of folders in Outlook. To prevent emails from going to the Junk email folder, you can adjust your settings in Outlook to make the appropriate changes.
Zipped files
Compressed files, will continue to be quarantined. Should you receive or expect to receive a legitimate zip file via email, you will need to enter a ticket with your local help desk in Service Now to have that file released. Many of these files are malicious in nature, and may not be safe to open. Please request files to be released only if you are expecting them, and you know the sender.
